"Unofficial"
Fairoaks Airport is a private airfield, owned and operated by the Alan Mann Group, and they have a page for the airport which can be found within that site at
http://www.alanmann.co.uk/services/
This UNOFFICIAL website has been developed independantly and is maintained by Jeremy Parkin, who is a great supporter of the airfield and hopes to get flying sooner rather than later. It is our aim to compliment the official page by presenting an alternate and accurate view of the airfield in as much depth as is possible.
All information presented on this website is in the public domain, and all information on this site can be independantly proven.
We would be very pleased to hear from anyone who has any connections with Fairoaks airport, whether
airside or landside, for leisure or business, past or present - please Email us. Here is a list of data sources for anyone interested:-
- Aircraft ownership data from the CAA - the register is a public document - in fact you can check out current owners online at the G-INFO Search Page
- People visiting the airfield and watching the aircraft (see the Spectators page to see the best places to watch from and what areas to be avoided)
- People some distance from the airfield listening to airband on 123.425MHz at their own peril... I note that it is illegal under the Wireless Telegraphy Act to listen to airband unless you are in the control tower or flying an aircraft on the frequency - Check out the Radiocommunication Agency's Information Sheet 169 which is about this very subject.
- People telling me they had an aircraft at their airfield which was routing to or from Fairoaks
- Various Internet mailing lists, including C-S, Airfields, Fairoaks and Farnborough lists.
- BT's online phonebook
- 192.com - an amazing CD with address/phone details for every person and company in the UK
- Various Internet search engines
- Local directories
- Aircraft owners and operators
